The politics of cruelty -- Or was Sinclair Lewis a Prophet

I ask myself every day why so many successful men and woman take the path to entitlement ? Sneering at those not as blessed . We all start life pretty much the same  totally dependent on someone to fill our needs and most of the time that someone loves us ! I'm 75 and I would expect to live somewhat longer but these jaded people would like to see me die younger, along with a large portion of others like me.To the point ! How do a vast number of people become so viscious they are hellbent on destroying the lives of millions of others ? We work to provide a home,food , an education for our children and keep our family's if not in luxury but as comfortable as we can provide. A large number of these people (The jaded ones) not content with the rich's they or their ancestors amassed now want it all ! Millions have lost homes,savings and jobs.Many are homeless,sick with no healthcare and unable to provide even the basics for families.Yet the vicious few are doing everything in their power to make it worse ! Considering our lifetimes are pretty short I would think we would do everything possible to respect the right of everyone to a decent life.Corporations are right in the forefront gleefully killing workers rights-Politicians are passing laws to take away the right to unionize- Unemployment benefits being cut to the bone-Laws Slashed  that protect Woman-Would be Politicians suggesting that child labor laws be abolished -Privatize the Prisons,Education,Postal system,Social Security,Eliminate Medicare and Medicade,And the Senior drug plan these vicious people would eliminate all Social safety nets -  They would crush civil rights in a heartbeat.The list is long and they've just begun their rein of terror.Sinclair Lewis nailed it when he said " When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the Flag and carrying a Cross " Worth reading is a book Lewis wrote that was published in 1935  It Cant Happen Here.Guess What ? It looks like it is happening here.
